When should your final pay arrive?

Use your separation date and your employer's normal work schedule to check the general timing. Keep your pay agreement handy for commissions, bonuses and unused leave.

Keep these details with your records

Involuntary separation generally uses six calendar days. If the employer is normally closed on day six, the next regular workday applies. Voluntary separation generally uses the next scheduled payday. Written commission and bonus plans can set different payment dates; PTO payout depends on the employer's written policy.
