Working part time while claiming benefits?

Enter the weekly benefit amount from your TWC determination and your gross employee earnings for the week. This is a planning estimate, before taxes and other adjustments.

Use the week you worked, even if payday is later. Add the exact gross amounts from other jobs before entering their total.

Your weekly estimate

How the estimate works

The allowance is the greater of $5 or 25% of your weekly benefit amount. Earnings above it reduce the estimated benefit. We add earnings across jobs, then round that reported total down to whole dollars.

Official sources disagree on rounding a partial payment. The statute rounds fractional payments up; TWC's public example calculator rounds to the nearest dollar. When that changes the result, we show both amounts as a range. TWC determines the actual payment.

This tool covers ordinary employee earnings. Self-employment, Shared Work and special programs use other rules. Full-time work, work-search requirements, waiting weeks, claim balance, severance and other income may affect payment or eligibility.
